Estimating Mud Weight
The driller sends a roustabout over to knock on your car window and wake you up. It's 2 A.M.
He's a half hour away from drilling into your target zone. Is his mud properly conditioned?
This program calculates the mud weight required to balance an expected pressure in a zone. Select the appropriate units and then enter the true vertical depth and the pressure you anticipate in your zone.
This routine is useful when you know that the formation is not going to be at normal hydrostatic pressure, either through depletion, or overpressure.
